Shift linkage gets in a bind (sometimes) most often shifting from reverse to a forward gear, with moderate pressure on the shift lever the lever jumps out of the slot on the shift rods. I have to remove the top plate, align the shift rods and reinstall the top plate.
Any ideas why this occurs and how to remedy the problem?
