Unhappy Replacement of 4025 bull pinion shaft and differential lock

The right brake on my 4025 4WD was jammed and wouldn’t work. So I took of the brake housing and found this. The bull pinion shaft was broken in pieces. The rh bearing cage was broken and the differential lock shaft is bent. A large piece of the bearing cage dropped int the differential case. My question is how do I get the rear part of the bull pinion out of the differential to put a new one in. Do I have to remove both sides. The service manual I have is not great. Do I have to remove the hydraulics to et to the differential case to get the metal piece of the cage out?
    Thanks for any input. Hlorson
